Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes
5:21 AM, Tuesday November 24th 2020
i misread the instructions and accidentally did 2 pages of plotted perspective
Ellipses: some of those in tables look kinda wobly make sure you're using the shoulder as pivot
Rough perspective: you're missing some of those lines quite a lot, do try to ghost towards vanishing point before putting dots for actual box lines
Rotated boxes: you're having some trouble with backside of the boxes and some corners do not rotate as much as they should, but I thinks it's good enough for now
Organic perspective: well it looks like all boxes have same rotation to the viewer (same Y letter of corner closest to us) but otherwise looks good
All other stuff looks great, you're ready for 250 boxes challenge
Do remember to put all exercises in a "pool" and spent few minutes (5~10) for warmup by doing some random ones from it (you can use flashcards app like Anki so that you can prioretize exercises you're having more difficulty with)
Next Steps:
250 Boxes challenge
These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
