Hello Jen,

I'll be reviewing your work today.

Lines:

  1. Good confidence, I do not see fraying on both ends of the lines.

  2. For the ghosted lines, you have a bit of an arch. Watch out for that and remember to draw from your shoulder. Make sure your shoulder is loosened up as well, I find that that helps the fluidity of the motion.

Ellipses:

  1. Ghosted Planes and Ellipses look well done. I see that you've drawn through your ellipses 2-3 times.

  2. The funnel exercise: remember to expand the angle of your ellipses as you extend further away from the center. Some of the funnels look like they have the exact same ellipses all the way through.

Boxes:

  1. Looks good. Some lines for the inner part of the box in the rough perspective exercise could be straighter. Don't forget to ghost through all your lines. Every line is important!

  2. Rotated boxes look nice. Great work!

Next Steps:

250 box challenge!

Cottonwood Arts Sketchbooks

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
