Welcome to drawabox. I’ll be taking a look at your lesson 1 submission today.

Starting with your superimposed lines, these look mostly good. They’re smooth, properly lined up at the start, though not always of a consistent trajectory, so be mindful of that. The ghosted lines/planes look confident all the way through, and I’m pleased to see that you’re using start/end points for the non-diagonal center lines of the planes.

The table of ellipses exercise looks solid. It’s a little too close to prioritizing accuracy, over confidence, but it has yet to cross that line. Remember, though, that that’s where our priorities lie: a smooth, rounded ellipse is much preferable to a wobbly one, however accurate it may be. Also, I’ll recommend sticking to 2 rotations from now on. The ellipses in planes are more of the same, which is to say that they’re good; in particular, you’ve done a good job of maintaining their roundness, despite their more complicated frames. The funnels are well done, too. Your ellipses are snug, and properly cut in half.

Nice work on the plotted perspective exercise – it looks clean.

The rough perspective exercise looks really good, also. Your linework is confident, and I’m pleased to see how many unused points there are in the page – as a result of them, of this amount of planning, I mean, your convergences are super solid. There’s some issues with those of boxes furthest from the VP, but this is entirely expected, and something that’ll improve over time.

The rotated boxes exercise looks nice. It’s big, its boxes are snug, and properly rotating, and you’ve been mindful of both their far planes, and depth lines. As you progress through the box challenge, you’ll learn even more about the construction of boxes, and be able to make some more informed decisions in certain areas, but for now, this is more than satisfactory.

Finally, the organic perspective exercise looks solid. Here, too, I’m pleased to see some proper planning, in the form of start/end points. As a result of them, your boxes look solid, and, as per their size, and foreshortening, do a good job of conveying the illusion we’re after, too. Solid work, all around.
