Hi!

This is good work overall. We can clearly see your dedication and seriousness.

I have 3 concern about it that I would like to share with you :

  • Your ellipses are great, but your table of ellipses are super homogeneous. You should try to split some boxes with a curve, and vary scales of the boxes to get to draw different sizes of ellipses.

  • Your rough perspectives are off. It's normal to have lines that don't converge properly at this stage, but you are doing a more serious mistake : you almost always make your in perspective sides going the wrong way. Perspective lines of the cube are supposed to point toward the horizon line. It's a big concern since it's an important information of hox perspective is built.

  • Lastly, I think you would greatly gain by using a fineliner (or similar) type of pen instead of a pencil. No need to sharp it, always consistent inking so you can work on your grip more efficiently.

The rest is fine and solid, i think you are on a good path!

Next Steps:

  • You may do one more Table of Ellipses with various scales, as shown in the instructions of the lesson.

  • You should also redo the Rough Perspective exercise to get the lines in the right direction (you don't have to have them exactly converge to the VP, but you must make them point to the right direction).

If you can, try to switch from pencil to fineliner pen, it would make a huge difference... for you! ;)

Good luck!

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Thank you for your review

I noticed what you said about the ellipses in planes and the rough exercise. I'll do them again, about the pencil I can't have one now, but maybe later I will use one. Thanks again for your review.

The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something I've used myself. If you're interested, here is a full list.
Staedtler Pigment Liners

Staedtler Pigment Liners

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
