For the organic perspective I did mutliple lines to make the closer boxes stand out a bit but then realized that wasnt apart of the assignment, so I appologize for that. Other than that this has been a great start to a learning experience! I'm ready to keep improving!

Congrats on completing lesson 1. Let's begin with the super imposed lines exercise. A solid attempt and you attempted curly lines as well which is a bonus. Good work on the ghosted lines exercise. I like that you kept the points small so the lines bascially swallow them up which is essentially the point. As for the ghosted planes and ellipses, there's a bit of overshooting in regards to the ghosted planes but that's fine that will improve the more you ghost as for the ellipses some of them feel like you rushed them because a couple of the eliipses are not covering there individual planes entirely. I think spending a little longer ghosting would be helpful.Moving on to the ellipse section, the ellipses in the table of ellipses exercise look solid: they’re rounded, and properly drawn through. Solid work on the funnels exercise, however try using a rule for the vertical and horizontal lines rather than free-hand because you need to be able to tell if the ellipses create equal halves as the line cuts through them.

Good work on the plotted perspective exercise, however I would suggest using a ruler for the shading bit is looks much smoother and consistent.

Moving on to the rough perspective exercise, I can see there is a lack of confidence in the lines. Most of them are not meeting there target. I understand that you're worried that you might overshoot but try your best to reach the target. Remember all your doing is drawing a line from point A to point B so if you can have confident lines in the ghosted exercise you can have confident lines here too and also the points don't have so bold.

Good work on the rotated boxes exercise. The boxes are actually rotating and the spaces between them are narrow and consistent.

Solid attempt on the organic perspective and as you noticed the lineweight isn't necessary. I can still a couple of lines not meeting there target and few are wobbly especially the ones further away from the viewer.

Next Steps:

You can move on to the 250 boxes challenge. Good luck! Use this as an opportunity to work on ghosting a liitle longer to improve on the confidence in your lines

thank you! I'll work on my line work a bit more and confidence!

PureRef

PureRef

This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.

When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.

Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
