Hello Crowdrawing! First of all, congrats on finishing Lesson 1! I'll be reviewing your homework today

Lines

  • The superimposed lines exercise is nicely done, and you understood its purpose

  • The ghosted lines are neat

  • You did a good job on the ghosted planes too, but the lines are a bit wobbly. Be sure to continue drawing from your shoulder with a single, confident mark, even if you overshoot/miss the end point.

Ellipses

  • The ellipses are smooth and confident, nice! In the table of ellipses, they're also pretty snugged against each other and the borders. That's stellar! Keep it up

  • I noticed you lost a bit of that smoothness in the ellipses on planes exercise. Always try to keep them round and smooth, before thinking about accuracy.

  • The ellipses on the funnels are very well positioned and symmetrical, but some of them look chunky. Again, prioritize confidence over accuracy, and you'll nail that ^^

Boxes

  • The plotted perspective exercise is perfect ^^

  • The convergence of the lines on the rough perspective is also pretty good. Remember that in that exercise, since we are working with 1 point perspective, width lines show always be parallel to the horizon and height lines, perpendicular to the horizon. It's a bit hard at the beginning to nail that. Also, don't draw over the lines you got wrong. Embrace your mistakes and do better on the next one! ^^

  • The rotated boxes exercise is nicely done! The boxes are rotating in space, drawn through, and close to each other. But again, you're drawing over your mistakes!

  • In the organic perspective exercise, I noticed some chicken scratching ^^;. I'm not sure if you weren't confident with the perspective of the boxes, but if you aren't, there's no need to draw perfectly convergent boxes right now, you'll get a lot of practice on the 250 boxes challenge. But right now, you need to nail that confidence, and embrace your mistakes. It's part of learning!

Overall, you did a good job. But do focus on that confidence, both in the ellipses and in the boxes. Don't be afraid to make mistakes!

Good luck on the 250 boxes challenge!

Best of wishes ^^

Your ellipses seem to be quite rushed I would suggest slowing down and try to work on line quality

Cottonwood Arts Sketchbooks

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
