Yes and no.

Yes, in the sense that Drawabox is teaching us fundamental concepts to art that will almost certainly apply to almost anything, including anime characters.

No, in the sense that Drawabox does not currently teach figure drawing or drawing humans.

You may want to consider taking some figure drawing classes. Proko and NMA are good sources, as well as CGMA (which is more expensive). I'd probably recommend starting with Proko, as it is the cheapest option of the three.

Yes, Drawabox is about improving your instincts about drawing any subject and this is something that could eventually be applied to drawing anime characters, especially if you want to draw them in perspective.

It depends. Drawabox will teach you about how form interact with each other , overlap and various perspective stuff. You can apply this knowledge on your anime background and show how the depth and illusion or 3D into 2D plane.

But if you mean anime character design and stuff and anatomy related to it. You need to study the figure drawing and do gesture. Once you have fundamental set it then it will easy to do gesture and figure drawing. You can try Proko or michael hampton for such figure studying. They are great resource for figure stuff.

Below this point is mostly ads. Indie projects, and tool/course recommendations from us.
This section is reserved for low-cost advertising space for art related indie projects.
With how saturated the market is, it is tough for such projects to get eyes on their work.
By providing this section, we hope to help with that.

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
