Repost, havent received a critique since February
Hi, I will try to correct your 250 box challenge as best I can.
As I hear that you didn't get a review after so long, I will recommend you to ask on the drawabox community discord.
There you can access the critique exchange channel where you would get quick answers on your next lessons.
Most of all, let me get started:
Lines:
Both line weight and shading are well drawn and applied in place.
I like that neither looks hastily drawn.
No errors to mention here.
Box construction:
It is quite helpful that you have drawn your boxes in various orientations, so you won't be surprised when you are asked to draw them in various positions in later lessons.
On several occasions the lines of your boxes diverge.
As shown here: https://imgur.com/mWLlnYl
This is a mistake.
This usually happens when we draw boxes with shallow foreshortening.
In these cases the lines converge very slowly, but they should never* diverge.
If you have trouble keeping each line converging, this method may help you with the problem: https://imgur.com/3zoQA65
Conclusion:
I will leave you with a minimum of homework to correct divergences in the boxes.
You don't have to rush to do it, just do it when you have a chance.
Next Steps:
A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.
In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
