Heyo, hope you're having a wonderful week! After a few weeks of drawing nothing but boxes I finally finished! Hopefully the link works alright and that there's no technical difficulties seeing the boxes. Feedback would eb appreciated!

I think the box lines have a nice and clean lines although the cross-hatching is a bit scratchy and uneven ( IMO it helps to try and keep these lines straight and even too ).

My main concern would be that there still seems to be some issues with perspective. Take 236 for example there are lines diverging not converging as they should, this seems to happen in quite a few. Not sure what happened in 250.

Think of those boxes as 3 sets of 4 parallel edges converging to a vanishing point in the first instance and you might get more consistent convergence.

I think it would help to review your work with this in mind.

Next Steps:

I would recommend another 50 and be really focussed on vanishing points such that all 3 sets converge to a point for each box.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Ok, so I gave it the extra set, but the back lines always killed me. But I did try my best to think about it being 3 sets of 4 parallel lines. Idk if the link goes here or not but here's the link to the extra set of boxes.

Hi, I can see improvement and it is now clearer to see where the errors are due to the colours.

You seem to get it right the majority of the time but there are many where a line or two is off by quite a margin.

I think sometimes you are getting confused as to which line belongs to which group or which direction the perspective lines go ( they should always be away from you, 47 and 48 for example are wrong).

Will mark as complete and see if others agree, caveat being that there is still work to be done in getting things consistently correct. I suspect future lessons will be harder if this isn't nailed down ( remember I am only a beginner too, so am just guessing ).

This community member feels the lesson should be marked as complete, and 2 others agree. The student has earned their completion badge for this lesson and should feel confident in moving onto the next lesson.

Heyo, I probably should have used colors for the first 250 but i totally forgot to use highlighters and stuff like that.

I tried to keep everything in perspective but whenever i executed the line, it just didn't go as planned, but hopefully I'll get better with boxes in the future.

and thx dude!

Marco Bucci's Getting Started with Digital Painting

Marco Bucci's got a ton of great courses available on proko.com, including some of the best videos you can find on using colour and light. Since a lot of our students want to break into working with digital painting however, I thought this course in particular would be a great start to get into the weeds with how to navigate the confusing world of layers, brushes, and more.

This course highlights programs across the full spectrum of options, ranging from the current industry standard Adobe Photoshop, to the Free-and-Open-Source darling Krita, as well as the mobile favourite, Procreate.
