Image host issue

11:50 AM, Wednesday January 21st 2026

For information, Imgur is not available in the UK, withdrawn by developers due to fear of falling foul of a new law. I hope I've navigated Google One Drive correctly for you.

I tried submitting the Lesson 1 homework but due to the above issue with Imgur, I used Google One Drive but received an error message 'Invalid URL - You might need to use a different image host'.

I'm not sure how to proceed here, I don't normally post anything 'online', so only have the One Drive application.

There are plenty of image hosting websites out there - a few that come to mind include imgbox.com and imgbb.com, though I can't speak to their pros/cons from personal experience. If you look up free image hosts on google, you should be able to find one that fits your needs. As long as the album url provides an image preview, it'll work with our system.

For what it's worth, lots of folks here do use google drive (although since you said google one drive, you may have meant microsoft onedrive - I've seen people use it before but not as frequently). Of course, the links to those platforms do have to be publicly viewable. Not sure if that was the issue you were running into, or if it was something else.

Thank you. I did a quick search and came up with Flickr, which seems to have worked. But your insight is appreciated.

Below this point is mostly ads. Indie projects, and tool/course recommendations from us.
This section is reserved for low-cost advertising space for art related indie projects.
With how saturated the market is, it is tough for such projects to get eyes on their work.
By providing this section, we hope to help with that.
If you'd like to advertise here, you can do so through comicad.net
The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something we've used ourselves, or know to be of impeccable quality. If you're interested, here is a full list.

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

On the flipside, they tend to be on the cheaper side of things, so if you're just getting started (beginners tend to have poor pressure control), you're probably going to destroy a few pens - going cheaper in that case is not a bad idea.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
