hello

i'll be handeling the critique of your lesson 1 hw submission.

lines

starting off with superimposed lines (the page seems to be upside down) good job on keeping the fraying towards the end. there's mostly no fraying at the starting point and this is exactly what we need to be doing here.

with ghosted lines you seem to be focusing on confident mark making and planning out the lines quite nicely. well done. there's some arching in some cases however and to avoid this try ghosting in the opposite direction. also rotate your paper as necessary.

pretty much same goes for the ghosted planes. the one thing i must call out here is that you're keeping empty spaces around the page. try to add as many planes in a page of various sizes to utilise the paper better.

ellipses

moving over to ellipses, the tables of ellipses look good as you're trying to draw ellipses in different degrees. we should aim to draw over an ellipse no more than 2-3 times (preferably 2 times).

i'd say the same would apply for ellipses in planes. some ellipses here lost their shape and got slightly deformed as you tried to make them touch the edges of the planes. getting an even elliptical form is the main goal here, drawn with confident mark making over focusing on accuracy.

not much to critique on funnels as you kept most of the ellipses aligned to the minkr axis. well done.

boxes

in the rough perspective section, horizontal lines should be parallel to horizon and vertical lines perpendicular to horizon. you got this right mostly. what i'll be calling out here is you're drawing over lines at times. if they turn out a bit off keep it as is instead of trying to correct it as it makes thing look messy. also be a bit more careful with hatching lines. hatching should also be placed with planning and ghosted method.

on rotated boxes the same thing applies here about line drawovers and hatching lines. also making the boxes bigger in size will allow you to place the next box easier as well as planning with the shoulder pivot.

in the organic perspective some of your boxes have divergenges instead of having convergence. you could aslo have exiperimeted a bit more with the rotations here.

overall, you seem to be following most of the instructions. you'll be overcoming the few shortcomings with practice and dilligence. so best of luck. i'd say move over to the 250 boxes challenge.
