Hey, TA qzhans here!
Before we begin, I just want to congratulate you on giving those 250 boxes a good ol’ pen and ink smackdown. It is a MASSIVE undertaking and you’ve joined the prestiged club of its completers.
You’ve diligently drawn through all your boxes and extended every single last line out to check your errors, and your boxes have been better for it. I can see a marked improvement throughout the set, with a nice internal understanding of convergences coming along.
In general, I like how you've structured this exercise, trying both flat and long boxes. I do think you could’ve broken from your rigid 6 boxes a page to do some big ones, as a challenge.
The main issue here would be, as you mentioned, the use of lineweight to pop out the boxes from the page. You shouldn’t be using more than 1 line to reinforce your lines; so do the necessary preparation/ghosting, and execute it in one confident stroke. If you miss the mark or end up drawing a double line, that’s okay; chalk it up and do better next time. Additionally, there seems to be a misunderstanding of where to put lineweight as well. You’ve in general put it everywhere, when it should only be used to reinforce the silhouette. Read this section again to see what is the correct way to apply line weight.
Also, although you've done a pretty good job with convergences, some of your middle back lines are still stubbornly not jumping in line with the rest of them. That’s okay, and is something that gets ironed out over time, but I’ll offer some advice. When you go to draw a line, think only about the lines that are supposed to be parallel to it (share a vanishing point). Lines closer to an existing line will converge slower, while the opposite is true for lines further away.
In general, you’ve hit the important part on the head, which is a nice understanding of convergences. However, I’m still a little bit concerned about the way you applied line weight, so I’d think it’d be good for you to try 5 more boxes, applying lineweight in the correct places and executing them with the proper confidence.
Next Steps:
5 boxes, focusing on good lineweight and line quality
