Hello, I will be critiquing your lesson 1 homework.

Lines

Your lines begin a bit wobbly, but I can see your line confidence greatly improves as you get to the ghosted planes exercise. Great job on that! In some of your boxes, you have redrawn over your lines for correction. Even if your initial line is off, you should avoid repeating lines and simply move on as if it correct. You will continue to get practice with the trajectory of your lines as you do more exercises :)

Ellipses

Your ellipses look great! They are drawn confidently and there is minimal overlap in your ellipses table. Well done! For your funnels exercise some of your ellipses are not completely aligned with the minor axis. Aim to have the minor axis cut the ellipses in half.

Boxes

Overall your boxes look good, and they are drawn through as they should be. As mentioned previously, avoid repeating your lines. It seems you have a strong grasp on the concepts though, very well done!

Next Steps:

I suggest trying the Organic Perspective exercise again without repeating over your lines. Then you should move on to the 250 box challenge!

Thank you for the feedback! I know it has been over month since your reply and I definitely apologize for that. I will do the organic perspective exercise again for sure, thank you again.

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
