Complete beginner to drawing so, no surprises on my performance here....I really need the 250 Box Challenge.

Hi!

In general I think you nailed lesson 1! Tap yourself on the back you earn it!

Superimposed lines: I can notice that you shake a lot, I don’t know you you were holding yourself because on the Ghosted lines I see really straight and confident lines!

Ghosted planes & Ellipses in planes: In general your ghosted planes have way less wobbly lines than your superimposed, but your ellipsis are not that confident. I don’t know if is an warm up that maybe you need to do first or maybe work more on your confidence... Because, whem you do your tables of ellipses they look way more confident!

your perspective exercises are good, but on the rotated boxes I can see that a better knowledge of perspective would help you a lot! So I think on this case the 250 box challenge will help you a lot!

Next Steps:

Well, time for 250 box Challenge. This is a hard challenge, mentally speaking, at least for me it was (comparing to lesson 1). So, take your time and breaks and your mind and body need! Don’t force yourself.

I would suggest, everyday that you sit to draw the box challenge just do 3 or 4 exercises of superimposed lines as a warm up. It would help you improve and warm up for the contor line of the boxes.

Hello! Good job overall :D. In addition to what MARIALIMA said:

Superimposed Lines: The purpose of this exercise was to develop your muscles to draw lines in a confident and smooth way, as well as get you used to drawing from the shoulder, it's not about making a line that starts and ends where the original one does, so fraying on one end is expected. The wobbly lines come from the brain trying to course-correct all the lines as the pen goes. Your muscles are the ones who say where the line goes, without hesitation. It's a good warm up exercise.

Ghosted Lines: They lack juuust a little bit of confidence, make sure to take all the time you need to ghost your lines and draw from your shoulder.

Ellipses in Planes and Tables of Elipses: What goes for the lines also applies here: let your arm do the job and don't rush the ghosting.

Funnels: I think you did a good job aligning them with the minor axis, but all I have to say that many of them are a bit spaced from each other and you could've tried to change the degree of the ellipses as you went further away from the middle line, but good job anyway :D

Boxes: On the rotated boxes I all have to say is that some edges didn't use the neighboring ones as guidelines, and a few of the boxes were not tapered, but I think you're good to go. I think the boxes suffered the most from the lack of confidence in your lines, but you will get better using them as warm ups.

Next Steps:

I don't think you need to re-do any exercises here, as I believe you got the main idea of most of the lessons, but using them as warm ups before you start a drawing session is a must(like the superimposed lines, table of ellipses and ghosted lines or ghostes planes). Go on, there are 250 boxes waiting for you :D

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
