Lesson 3: Applying Construction to Plants
10:12 AM, Tuesday February 2nd 2021
The plant's are done baby!
For now I would say I can at least put construction into practice in my mind, what I feel is holding me back is mostly technical proficiency with ellipses, branches, crappy 2d leaves, etc which can probably remedied if i shove them all in my warmups and give em a good month or two to marinate.
General mistakes I've done was definitely the rigid lines, and lack of dynamism with certain forms.
Some case specific mistakes are the aloe vera leaves and the grape.
Aloe vera
The aloe vera's leaves/flesh things should've been constructed by extruding from the pots surface to give it a more flow and the form of the leaves are not connected with the form of the pot.
Grape
I Needed to observe the grapes more to get the gist of the pattern n bumps instead i just jumped in thinking mostly on the leaves proportions and what's the best way to construct the base of the grape. The spheres are haphazardly placed due to my brain being on auto pilot most of the time which is a very very naughty thing to do, it made me not think of how the ball connects with the overall forms.
Those are some of the things I've noted from taking a quick glance, there's probably more thorough observational notes in there but I'll leave it up to you to decide weather I'm talking completely from my arse or not.
As always, any criticism is appreciated!
