Should our submissions use strictly photographs as reference or is it acceptable to use an adequately detailed painting?
I'm on lesson 5, and all of the longhorn reference photos I can find are mostly the same poses and none of them show the hooves. I found one that shows a lot more features, but it's a painting - should I refrain from using it and just stick to photographs?
Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
Remember that when you agree with something another user has written, you are putting your own reputation behind it.

Agreeing blindly just to be nice is a good way to get your permissions associated with this function revoked, so make sure that you genuinely feel that the response is beneficial to the student.
