the 33% rule

I'm trying to wrap my head around this 50% rule. At first it seems simple: make sure you have fun drawing half the time. Otherwise you will burn out. I can understand that part.
But as I read on, the fun part doesn't seem to be fun at all, we have to draw the things our brains insists we're not ready to draw yet. He writes: "Some will still miss the point that the 50% rule is supposed to be incredibly difficult and frustrating. It's not supposed to be fun, not at first. It forces you to be vulnerable in ways you're not used to."
So, if I understand correctly, both "exercises" (drawing boxes & not-ready-for-drawings) will be hard, and there will still be no room for "real" fun while draxing, so we will eventually burn out after all. ;-)
Yet I believe there is much truth in what he writes. I believe both exercises are incredibly important, but both are indeed difficult. I'm quite willing to do them both.
But I also want to have some real fun while drawing. And I want to make time for that too. So for now I will use the 33% rule.
