How to get back into drawing after burnout?

I started drawing a little bit over a year ago. I've been having a lot of fun and I even set some goals. However, at some point I got pretty serious about it. I went hard at it, and to be honest, I didn't follow the 50/50 rule that much. All that was on my mind was getting better. Now, I realize I burned myself out. I can't find any motivation or desire to draw. I really miss it, and want to get back at it, but I have no motivation to actually sit down and press my pencil against paper.

How can I get out of this?

Well, it seems you did a pretty great job of participating in last season's promptathon - and the next one's about to start in ten minutes or so. Perhaps participating in this one as well will get you back on the wagon?

If you don't feel like drawing, maybe you could try doing something to 'distract' yourself from concentrating on it 100%. Just to get used to drawing basically. Maybe having a podcast or an audiobook on while just putting some pen/pencil on paper might give you enough of a kick to get back into it. Starting off with doodles first while you're listening to something and maybe even doodle what you hear. Just an idea. :)

Do you still have a stack of your drawings and or exercises? I've found sometimes taking a day when things are relaxed, it's helpful to look at past works. I might make a cup of coffee and just leaf through what's already been done.

Then, maybe just starting with some warmups.

I just got back into drawing after being away from it for two months working on a writing project. Started in on the next lesson, just drawing along to the demo video, and it's helped ease back into it. Did one first page of insects, and posted on the anything a dragon challenge.
