Starting with your sausages , you could try to stick more to the characteristics of simple sausages. It's just a little detail and doesn't really stand out much but there's place for improvement. You did a good job with the contour lines they fit snuggly within the sausages but one important thing to notice is the degree of the contour lines as in most of your sausages is consistent throughout the entire form. I suspect this is simply something you're going to have to think on a bit more actively when doing this exercise.

Continuing onto your insect constructions,I can see a number of examples that clearly show a good grasp of how the things you construct exist in 3D space, specifically in terms of having forms wrap around those that precede them, building up your construction in a three dimensional manner.

Now, you did really well using the sausage method to build the insect's legs, but there are some things to notice, this method is initially about laying in a base structure or armature that captures both the solidity and the gestural flow of a limb in equal measure.

For reference take a look at this or this, the tarantula is the drawing where you can improve most by using this technique.

And finally, I noticed a handful of places where you tried to incorporate some form shading into your drawings here. As mentioned in the texture section here, form shading is not something we're generally going to be using in this course.

But overall it is a pretty solid submission so I'll mark it as complete.

Thank you for your critique! I will take all your points into consideration and try to work on my shortcomings.

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
