Good afternoon everyone!

I have returned, and with the task done.

Take the 250 box challenge after finishing lesson 1.

(I made a total of 252 boxes for wanting to complete the final sheet).

The last 108 pages I did yesterday. I had a great time and now I have adapted an attitude where every sketch I do really makes me happy, whether it fails or not.

I would like to be able to get adequate criticism about my task, and thus be able to progress properly with my future lessons.

Hi, first of all I congratulate you upon completing this challenge as it requires patience and time. However there are some things that you have to take in consideration.

All of your boxes have dramatic foreshortening, which suggests an object with very large dimensions, but as we go through this course you'll notice that most things we'll draw are not immensely large, and our constructions will make use of forms with very shallow foreshortening.

Try to vary your rates of foreshortening more. Right now they're pretty much all being drawn with a very dramatic rate of foreshortening, but you're not experimenting with more shallow foreshortening at all. It's important to practice both.

Remember that the reason why we extend our lines is to be able to identify or mistakes and try to improve them, I can't really imagine that the way you drew most of your boxes really gave you much useful information in that regard, and so there wasn't much room for growth page over page.

Next Steps:

Please consider drawing 50-75 more boxes with shallow foreshortening or far away vanishing points, as it is very important to get later on.

I really appreciate that you have reviewed my homework. I will make the respective boxes to be able to advance.

But a question arose for all this:

Should I upload the suggested boxes too or do I just save them?

And how can I make sure I'm qualified to go to lesson 2?

I'm back!!

I have taken some time to rest, retrain and be able to feel more comfortable with other aspects of art during my definitive path.

I have practiced several times in order to show again my tasks that have been entrusted to me, and here I want to present them ready.

Thank you very much for the task that you left me, I have noticed an improvement in the aspects that you have pointed out to me and I feel ready for the next challenges.

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
