These look awesome mate!

Now, the lines don't always land where you want them to or they overlap a bit, but that's alright! I can see that you drew them with confidence and that's very important, and in the end, practice makes perfect!

I can see you are getting more and more accurate with the VP which is awesome!

The only thing that I would comment on is that you might need to be a bit more accurate with the hatching on the faces, maybe use a ruler if you don't already do, and that you should continue trying to improve on your line weight, there's the drawabox tutorial right here https://drawabox.com/lesson/250boxes/1/lineweight. Now I know it takes a bit more time, trust me, these little boxes are haunting me in my dreams too!! :) But you are going to see amazing improvements and I believe you are going to get more awesome at it over time! There is a nice little demonstration which presents the effects of line weight and why it's important in all kinds of artsy stuff, might want to check it out if you have the time and it's quite short too! I despise reading https://www.oca.ac.uk/weareoca/interior-design/six-examples-of-why-line-weights-matter/

There's also this beautifully constructed video by ScyllaStew, which I bet is gonna make your boxes even better! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mteUPdCHn4s&t

Good luck in this treacherous box journey! We are in this together RZMD...

Hi thanks a lot for the kind words! I appreciate you taking the time to have a look at my submission.

I was not aware it was fine to use a ruler for the hatching, and I agree I tend to be quite sloppy with it. I'll use a ruler going forward.

As for the line weights, I tried applying them on my very first page of boxes but found it very difficult and noticed it decreased the quality of my boxes. That is however a very strange argument as to why I stopped practicing it, so maybe I should pick it up again.

Appreciate the resources! Will definitely have a look.

Cheers.

Man I know line weight bugged me out too. I kinda cheated a little and used a ruler for like 25ish boxes, and then it came more naturally to me, so maybe try that :) Ain't no shame in using an easier route if you are going to get on the main road eventually.

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
