Hi Waxwerk, I've checked your submission.

Congrats on completing the 250 box challenge, it looks like you learned a lot from it! Now, there just a few things I wanted to touch on.

First of all, I see that the only thing holding your boxes down is sometimes your back corners, Here is a demo for you to try out whenever you are doing boxes as a warm up.

Another thing that I'm seeing is that your boxes are getting smaller as you progress through the lesson, this is usually the other way around, people get more confident and make bigger boxes. You did a great job with your boxes, that's why I advice you try to make them bigger so you can practice doing more confident and longer mark. This also goes for the constructions you will make in further lesson, always try to make them big.

I found your lesson 3 submission, and saw that no one had critiqued this lesson! so now I will go over your lesson 3 submission.

I'm gonna mark this challenge as completed! Keep it up.

Next Steps:

Move on to lesson 2

This community member feels the lesson should be marked as complete, and 2 others agree. The student has earned their completion badge for this lesson and should feel confident in moving onto the next lesson.

Weijak, Thank you so much for your thoughtful critique on both this and lesson 3!! I'm going to keep doing boxes as a warm up and make them bigger!

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
