Howdy GASTERA3,

Honestly, this is a fantastic first attempt, albeit a little bit sloppy. You seem to understand exactly what each this is meant to be, and I appreciate that so much. Congrats. That being said, there's a few things that I'd like to see you do, moving forward. If you fwub something, wind up with an ugly looking box, just own it. It's okay. Don't try to add another corner that you think looks right compared to it. An ugly box executed with confidence looks better than a frankenbox 100% of the time.

Also, don't make a new dot when your line doesn't end up exactly where you want it. It's okay, own the mistake and move on. You should be comfortable with your linemaking, even if it's not fully accurate. It will come along with time and mileage.

I'd like to see you redo the tables of ellipses. Ellipses are a weak point for you. Me too. Just make sure when redoing it to execute confidently, and ghost your circle. Do 2 passes on the circle.

I'd also like to see you redo the organic perspective WITHOUT trying to fix bad corners. Remember, mistakes are permissible.

Next Steps:

Table of Ellipses and Organic Perspective need to be redone.

When finished, reply to this critique with your revisions.

Rapid Viz

Rapid Viz

Rapid Viz is a book after mine own heart, and exists very much in the same spirit of the concepts that inspired Drawabox. It's all about getting your ideas down on the page, doing so quickly and clearly, so as to communicate them to others. These skills are not only critical in design, but also in the myriad of technical and STEM fields that can really benefit from having someone who can facilitate getting one person's idea across to another.

Where Drawabox focuses on developing underlying spatial thinking skills to help facilitate that kind of communication, Rapid Viz's quick and dirty approach can help students loosen up and really move past the irrelevant matters of being "perfect" or "correct", and focus instead on getting your ideas from your brain, onto the page, and into someone else's brain as efficiently as possible.
