Hello and congrats on completing lesson one. I'll be taking a look at your submission today. Starting with your superimposed lines these are off to a fine start. You are keeping a clearly defined starting point with pretty minimal wavering throughout. Your ghosted lines and planes turned out pretty good. I think you might be a little too concerned with acccuracy still especially on some of these planes as you are getting a tad bit of wobble in some of your lines. https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/9/wobbling For the most part though your lines here are pretty confident and you appear to be ghosting and drawing from your shoulder.

Your tables of ellipses turned out decently. You are doing a good job drawing through all of your ellipses but on that note I think you probably try and draw through 2 - 3 times max. I'm seeing 4+ times on some of these and it's getting quite messy. You are going for smooth ellipse shapes but you still have quite a ways to go in terms of accuracy. There's nothing wrong with that as ellipses are quite hard to draw it's really just a matter of consistent practice. This is carried over nicely into your ellipses. It's great that you aren't getting hung up on accuracy at this stage. Your ellipses in funnels are pretty decent for the most part. My biggest criticism would be to draw though a few less times on these. Your ellipses still need plenty of work so make sure you keep practicing these during your warmups.

The plotted perspective looks good although I would like to mention your hatching real quick. If you want to add hatching do it the same as every other line you would draw. Ghost it multiple times and draw from your shoulder with confidence. Also don't just put hatch marks floating in the middle of a plane make sure they connect end to end. Your rough perspective boxes are looking pretty good. Your linework still has a bit of wobble at times and it could be happening for one of two reasons most likely. Either you are still getting too hung up on accuracy and are slowing down your stroke to compensate or you have reverted back to drawing from your wrist for some of these shorter lines. Either way it's something to consider. You did a good job extending the lines back on your boxes to check your work. As you can see some of your perspective estimations were quite off but this will become more intuitive with practice.

Your rotated box exercise was clearly a bit of a struggle. I like that you drew this nice and big as that really helps when dealing with complex spatial problems. You also did a good job drawing through all of your boxes and keeping your gaps fairly consistent. You are still struggling with the spatial thinking required for the rotations here which is perfectly normal given the difficutly of this exercise and the most important think is that you gave it your best shot. This is a great exercise to come back to after a few lessons to see how much your spatial thinking ability has improved. Your organic perspective exercise turned out pretty good. Your linework here seems to be getting more confident but there's still the occasional wobble happening. Your box constructions could definitely use some improvement so the 250 box challenge will be a great next step for you.

Overall this was a pretty good submission. I think your line confidence is still growing which is great. Your ellipses definitely need work in terms of accuracy so keep up on your practice with them. Otherwise I think you are understanding most of the concepts these lessons are trying to convey pretty well. I'm going to mark this as complete and good luck with the 250 box challenge!

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
