Hi!
I saw you did not recieve any feedback yet and that you posted this a long time ago. I hope I can help you a bit.
I don’t know how long you took for each exercise but some of these can take some time to concentrate and to focus on the ghosting technique. Try to focus from the very beginning even when it is drawing the table for the excersice. It will put you in the right mindset.
When drawing ellipses really try to ghost the form before putting your pen down. You are best to take your time with that. Try to add some variation in the ellipses.
The boxes seem to be going verry difficult. Inwould reccomend reading through the whole section again. perspective is not easy to take in so a second or even third reading/watching is always helpfull. Take your time for the plotted perspective. The vertical lines should be perpendicular with the horizontal lines and you are using a ruler so make sure the lines are on the vanishing point.
I think you misunderstood the rough perspective excersize. Read the excersice again before trying it. You need the boxes to be in one point perspective and to go to the vanishing point you put on the horizon. When you have the boxes take a ruler and see if they are near or on the vanishing point. At the moment you have a page with boxes on that are not going to the vanishing point and you have not extended the depth lines to see where they are going.
The rotated boxes have the same issues as the rough perspective excersize. The perspective is incorrect so they don’t rotate around the center box.
The organic boxes excersice also seems like a struggle. You really tried your best making them bigger and smaller but the boxes seem to have shifted to pyramids.
I hope the feedback was helpfull. Don’t get discouraged for the boxes. Sometimes you need to do a thing a few times to understand it.
Next Steps:
For revision you should try the funnel excersize again and try to add more funels and try shifting the degree of the ellips. I would reccomend doing all the excercises for the boxes again. Try reading the perspective explanation let it sink in and read it again the next day before doing the excersizes. Try to work clean when using a ruler so you see what you have done. Read/watch each excersize before making them again.
Good luck to you!
Drawabox-Tested Fineliners (Pack of 10, $17.50 USD)
Let's be real here for a second: fineliners can get pricey. It varies from brand to brand, store to store, and country to country, but good fineliners like the Staedtler Pigment Liner (my personal brand favourite) can cost an arm and a leg. I remember finding them being sold individually at a Michael's for $4-$5 each. That's highway robbery right there.
Now, we're not a big company ourselves or anything, but we have been in a position to periodically import large batches of pens that we've sourced ourselves - using the wholesale route to keep costs down, and then to split the savings between getting pens to you for cheaper, and setting some aside to one day produce our own.
These pens are each hand-tested (on a little card we include in the package) to avoid sending out any duds (another problem with pens sold in stores). We also checked out a handful of different options before settling on this supplier - mainly looking for pens that were as close to the Staedtler Pigment Liner. If I'm being honest, I think these might even perform a little better, at least for our use case in this course.
We've also tested their longevity. We've found that if we're reasonably gentle with them, we can get through all of Lesson 1, and halfway through the box challenge. We actually had ScyllaStew test them while recording realtime videos of her working through the lesson work, which you can check out here, along with a variety of reviews of other brands.
Now, I will say this - we're only really in a position to make this an attractive offer for those in the continental United States (where we can offer shipping for free). We do ship internationally, but between the shipping prices and shipping times, it's probably not the best offer you can find - though this may depend. We also straight up can't ship to the UK, thanks to some fairly new restrictions they've put into place relating to their Brexit transition. I know that's a bummer - I'm Canadian myself - but hopefully one day we can expand things more meaningfully to the rest of the world.
