Questions about construction/ Contours (Studies/50%)

I understand my last one was a bit rambly so I'll keep it quick.

1: Is it normal by lesson 3 to Integrate construction into your day to day drawings?

2: At the current moment would it be beneficial for me to Start learning construction on anatomy Animal/Human Or too early And suggested waiting until Lesson 4-5

3: Is it normal that I'm really struggling with the construction of my contour curves, I'm trying to work towards getting them better but the problem is I can't seem to have them wrap around properly I can't seem to think about them in different ways so they all come out the same Well maybe that's only to my point of view?

4: when doing self studies should I try to keep In the ideal drawer box like doing them with lots of reason Or should I be more thinking about in the process of doing a bunch of quick results and looking at where I went wrong?

  1. Yes. I'm assuming by "normal" you mean "okay" and not "required"

  2. You can start whenever, there is no restriction on what you can and cannot try to learn.

  3. Yes it's normal.

  4. Do both.

Below this point is mostly ads. Indie projects, and tool/course recommendations from us.
This section is reserved for low-cost advertising space for art related indie projects.
With how saturated the market is, it is tough for such projects to get eyes on their work.
By providing this section, we hope to help with that.

The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something we've used ourselves, or know to be of impeccable quality. If you're interested, here is a full list.
The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
