Homework Confusion

12:34 AM, Saturday February 21st 2026

Okay so I mightve just missed something but when it comes to "completing" homework before submission (I'm not getting official critique, just don't prefer submitting partial work in general) does that mean completing the entirety of lesson one or the entirety of the individual subjects in it? ex. lines, ellipses, and boxes as individual things within the whole first lesson. I'm about to complete the lines homework and I don't know if I should submit it after I do and see what people have to say before moving onto the ellipses or if I just finish the entirety of lesson one as a whole (lines, ellipses, and boxes all together) and submit it all at once in one big photo dump.

Like was already said, you have to complete all the exercises before submitting for critique. However if you want feedback on particular exercises before completing all of them, I would recommend joining the discord and posting your work in the lesson channels.

I ended up creating a discord and figuring it out! I just was misunderstanding what I had read. Thanks for the help :)

You would have to do all three to complete the lesson. If you were to only do one or two sections, it would be partially complete.

Thanks! I was totally just misunderstanding what I read but I get it now :)

Below this point is mostly ads. Indie projects, and tool/course recommendations from us.
This section is reserved for low-cost advertising space for art related indie projects.
With how saturated the market is, it is tough for such projects to get eyes on their work.
By providing this section, we hope to help with that.

The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
