Hi Nheee, great job on finishing Lesson 1.

Your lines and ellipses are confident and show that you have good understanding on the concepts. Nothing particular to note here.

For your boxes exercises, I would like to point out a couple of things.

First of all, you should try to put more weight on the outer edges of your plotted boxes as mentioned here. I know it was optional, but I feel you could have pushed yourself a little more.

Secondly, in the rotated boxes exercise, the edges of the boxes need to converge more towards each end they are rotating to. If you look at the second bottom row of boxes for example, the horizontal edges of the leftmost box seem to be converging to the right side instead of left. I think your boxes will improve as you work on the 250 Box Challenge.

Next Steps:

I think you're ready to move on, so your next step is the 250 Box Exercise.

Good luck!

Hi Neu, I didn't notice i got a review! Thank you for the taking the time, your observations are welcome.

I ended up doing the 250 box challenge but i'll wait for a review on that one before moving on to the next lesson.

The Art of Blizzard Entertainment

While I have a massive library of non-instructional art books I've collected over the years, there's only a handful that are actually important to me. This is one of them - so much so that I jammed my copy into my overstuffed backpack when flying back from my parents' house just so I could have it at my apartment. My back's been sore for a week.

The reason I hold this book in such high esteem is because of how it puts the relatively new field of game art into perspective, showing how concept art really just started off as crude sketches intended to communicate ideas to storytellers, designers and 3D modelers. How all of this focus on beautiful illustrations is really secondary to the core of a concept artist's job. A real eye-opener.
