Hey guys, what’s up?

So, I've been drawing for a couple of years, really started to try and be serious like a year ago tho, geared towards concept design. Recently I've been very confused to which path (characters, creature, environments, etc.) I wanted to follow, and I was looking for a school like CGMA, Brainstorm or Syn Studio to help me get that structured education, so a really helpful artist suggested that I tried Drawabox for a more structured learning experience, and it has been awesome!!! That perspective lesson was lterally the best perspective lesson I've ever watched, so much better than what I learned in Design College (which I dropped out of to pursue concept design lol).

Anyway, I'd love to get some feedback from you guys to see what I could improve! I've seen several mistakes I've made, but I want some external input for there are probably plenty of ohers I haven't been able to spot on my own.

Again, thank you for this amazing website/course and community. Uncomfortable, you're the best!

Oh btw here are my IG "digital sketchbook"and ArtStation portfolio in case anybody's interested. It'd be awesome to get some feedback on anything on any of those if anybody's up to it haha

Hi Hall! let's just get right into all of your exercise

1. Lines for most the part all of your lines are great! even though i noticed that some of your lines are wobbly in your SIL exercise and it's okay cause you've done a great job on all of your lines exercise!

2. Ellipses good job on all of your ellipses exercise too! it is really difficult to draw ellipses ( but don't worry, just remember that this is all just an exercise or a fundamentals, not a final artwork :D )

3. Boxes i don't have any comments on your plotted perspective and rotating boxes exercise other than a great job! as for your plotted perspective, again you've done a great job on it! it is hard though because you are drawing it without a ruler, but atleast you understand the concept of doing rough 1 point perspective, and as for your organic perspective, i see that some of your boxes are elongated, they're supposed to be on the same size. Nonetheless congratulations on finishing Lessons 1 :D

Next Steps:

i request thou to do the 250 boxes exercise

Thank you for the kind words and critique overall!!

About the organic perspective boxes, I'm not too sure I understand what you meant about them being elongated... can't they have any proportions on that exercise?

I myself noticed that a few boxes, mostly in the 1st page are forshortened and that's probably because they have angles over 90 in some point, but I think I got more mindful of that as I went along haha

Again, thank you for your time, this was very much appreciated!

What i meant about the organic perspective is that some of your boxes are very long, and again, i think it's fine cause your organic perspective exercise looks very convincing and good :)

These are what I use when doing these exercises. They usually run somewhere in the middle of the price/quality range, and are often sold in sets of different line weights - remember that for the Drawabox lessons, we only really use the 0.5s, so try and find sets that sell only one size.

Alternatively, if at all possible, going to an art supply store and buying the pens in person is often better because they'll generally sell them individually and allow you to test them out before you buy (to weed out any duds).
