25 Texture Challenge

Definitely not perfect but I learned a lot! There were a couple of places where the shadows I drew indicated that the light source was on the opposite side from where it should have been (#6 and #23, the pineapple and golf ball textures in particular), but I suppose this is the place to make mistakes and learn from them. I feel like I have a much better grasp on how to imply concave and convex forms with purely cast shadows compared to when I started this challenge.
I found myself unsure at times where the cast shadows ended and occlusion shadows began, and truthfully am still not fully confident I can reliably tell the difference, but this challenge definitely got me thinking about the different types of shadows, where they tend to be, what roles they play in implying different forms, and how important shadows are in adding depth/texture to a surface.
I also found that the restrictions of drawing purely cast shadows and using only pure black/pure white values made some textures seemingly impossible to render in a recognizable way (how would you draw the surface of a tennis ball with these restrictions? Velvet fabric? Polished steel?) and I can't tell if that's just a skill issue or the nature of this challenge, but either way this process forced me to think about shadows in a way that I hadn't before, so that's a win in my book.
Thanks in advanced for any feedback!
