I seperated the 50 detailed chests into 25 of closed and open since that was what was done with the simple chests. I repeated the same proportion of simple closed, simple open, detailed closed, detailed open in that order for 100 pages. This means I did 25 of each type for a total of 100 chests.

I had all the images in order on my PC, but imgur for some reason messed up the order when I uploaded it. Trying to rearrange images into order again on imgur seems like a nightmare so I'm just leaving it as is.

I worked with references throughout the challenge. The way I used the references was that if the reference image didn't match the type of chest I was on currently I would use my imagination to adjust the chest in the reference to fit the current type. For example if the reference had a closed chest and I was on an open chest type page then I'd adjust the reference and draw an open version of it. If the type matched the reference then I'd draw the image from the reference as is.

It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something I've used myself. If you're interested, here is a full list.

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
