Resolution got killed but I can't be bothered to mess with it much.

This is actually a variation of a old character sketch I had, it fit this prompt perfectly, But I did boil it down and simplify a lot so I'd be able to finish it in time for the deadline,

It feels a bit sloppy, and I could spend hours refining it, even as I'm typing I'm noticing errors, but that's not the point of the 50% rule. I failed, but I had fun.

Color and Light by James Gurney

Color and Light by James Gurney

Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
