hi lazaro92

organic arrows

  • they are great in general, i think you really understood the assingment, good job!

leaves

  • here you did also did an amazing work, those who are folded naturally are amazing so congratulations

branches

  • here i can see that some of them have some visible tails, but thats a minor detail and it doesnt happen that often, so here you also understood the assingment, good job

plant 1

  • hmm the other drawings are great, but it seems that those drawings are making the plant drawing smaller and i think that such small space couldve put you in some trouble, for example in the branch it didnt seem that you were overshooting the line, and theres a lot of tails in that branch, but otherwise than that, the leaves and the pollen were good

plant 2

  • the construction part here is amazing, for all the mushrooms, the top one was amazing i loved the texture, the one on the right is also great, but for the texture, im confused, maybe some lines on the texture were random, but im not sure, apart from that i think that its better to only focus on one plant more than other two

plant 3

  • here the construction is great, but on the texture, ive felt that you could replicate the same texture that you did on the leaves exercise, those leaves are beautiful, but here they seem a little rushed, but otherwise from that this one was great

plant 4

  • the construction as always is great, but here the main branch seems unfinished, but on the other hand, the texture of the left flower is amazing, and i also think it would be a lot better if you skipped the flowerpot and started to give more atenttion to the plant itself

plant 5

  • here i cant say a lot, primarilly because you hadnt finished this one

plant 6

  • this one is amazing, everything, from the construction until the texture, congratulations!!!

plant 7

  • almost everything here is great, except for some things, the cast shadow at the end of the plant shouldnt be some scratch, i think it would be a lot better if its just pure black, but even with that the drawing is great, and as an advice you couldve made a big leave and from that one make the little ones, that makes your life a little more easy

plant 8

  • here also everything is amazing, but im not sure why but the petals of the flower seem a little bit stiff, maybe because they are a little bit straight and maybe some curviness would help a lot there, but otherwise than that, the drawing is great

Next Steps:

try to finish the cactus drawing before continuing

Hello I'm sorry but I went for the official critique. I did after I saw I forgot to check it in the upload formm and wanted to delete this post but I did not found how to delete it.

Ellipse Master Template

Ellipse Master Template

This recommendation is really just for those of you who've reached lesson 6 and onwards.

I haven't found the actual brand you buy to matter much, so you may want to shop around. This one is a "master" template, which will give you a broad range of ellipse degrees and sizes (this one ranges between 0.25 inches and 1.5 inches), and is a good place to start. You may end up finding that this range limits the kinds of ellipses you draw, forcing you to work within those bounds, but it may still be worth it as full sets of ellipse guides can run you quite a bit more, simply due to the sizes and degrees that need to be covered.

No matter which brand of ellipse guide you decide to pick up, make sure they have little markings for the minor axes.
