Thank you for your honest opinion and advice.

I will reread (rewatch) the lesson 0.

That real drawing was as 50% part (Uncomfortable-said no to grind), so i try to draw something on as a free time.

I was struggling with the hovering and ghosting with elipses (the moment when i put the pen on the paper there is a hesitation - i assume this is what Uncomfortable said about confidence).

Also i was kinda lost in the organic boxes.

But thank you for your advice.

Best regards,

So First, my take on the 50% that I got from the course is that you draw for fun, draw for the sake of drawing without worrying about whether what you drew is right. Uncomfortable mentions that using reference is not a bad thing, but you shouldn't Draw from reference when doing this 50%. The point of the 50% is to help yourself stop thinking about how it needs to look. Get comfortable with drawing just what you have in mind. The bad thing about using references and taking from life, is that we often get heavily stuck in trying to analyse what we're looking at. That means you're engaging and trying to learn, you're not giving your brain time to rest. That's my perspective on what I think Uncomfortable is trying to have us do with the 50% rule. If you can't think of what to draw. Just go find a "prompt generator" Just a single word. Like Bird. and just draw that, don't think about if it looks wrong, just draw what you think a bird looks like and keep doing it. Don't worry about the result either, that's why I wouldn't recommend sharing them with your lesson submission. Because these are personal drawings, they aren't meant to be critiqued because they aren't meant to be right. They're meant to just get you to doodle and relax.

Struggling with your confident lines is just going to take time and practice!! you're on the right path. Just make sure to stay aware! so that you can consciously work on it as you continue through the courses.

I actually think your organic boxes look great! No need to doubt yourself, it's clear in the organic boxes exercises that you have small boxes going to big boxes, I think the pacing does a great job to convey going back in space. The only critique I had on the organic boxes was just being aware that you were drawing over the same line more than once, that is all! Which I did the same thing in my exercise. It's something for us to work on.

Good job though, I wish you luck on your 250 boxes!

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
