250 Boxes line weight

I just started doing 250 box challenge and finished my first set of boxes. When I tried adding line weight to my boxes, it ended up looking like chicken scratches. should I continue adding them?

The question is why do they look like chicken scratches? Perhaps a photo would help.

When I was adding line weight I added it in one go. Essentially I just drew the same line again, point to point but perhaps a little more slowly and deliberately. It shouldn't be like colouring where you would use lots of strokes.

I always add line weight near the corners but the lines change their trajectories ever so slightly so they end up looking like scratches. I guess it's also because I use many lines as you said. Thank you!

Remember, you are adding a subtle weight, so the idea is to give just some extra thickness to your line. Maybe practising the superimposed lines exercise on your warmups could help. If you want, you can upload a link to imgur showing the problem.

These are my favourite sketchbooks, hands down. Move aside Moleskine, you overpriced gimmick. These sketchbooks are made by entertainment industry professionals down in Los Angeles, with concept artists in mind. They have a wide variety of sketchbooks, such as toned sketchbooks that let you work both towards light and towards dark values, as well as books where every second sheet is a semitransparent vellum.
