Lesson 3 done! It's nice to see some actual objects coming to life with the techniques learned in this course.

I am aware that my lines can get very wobbly. From time to time it's definitely a problem with my patience but it's mainly my extremely shaky hands, so more warmups don't always mean cleaner draftsmanship :')

Although I know the goal of these exercises is NOT to make a pretty picture, but instead to learn about 3D space and volume and construction, I did enjoy colouring over some of the drafts. It's a nice and motivating way for me to connect the information learned to the end goal, and just a fun cooldown exercise :) I don't have pictures of the before for most of those, but I trust the other objects on the page are enough.

I will definitely keep doing these! I feel like it'll be even more rewarding to do from life this summer ~

Rapid Viz

Rapid Viz

Rapid Viz is a book after mine own heart, and exists very much in the same spirit of the concepts that inspired Drawabox. It's all about getting your ideas down on the page, doing so quickly and clearly, so as to communicate them to others. These skills are not only critical in design, but also in the myriad of technical and STEM fields that can really benefit from having someone who can facilitate getting one person's idea across to another.

Where Drawabox focuses on developing underlying spatial thinking skills to help facilitate that kind of communication, Rapid Viz's quick and dirty approach can help students loosen up and really move past the irrelevant matters of being "perfect" or "correct", and focus instead on getting your ideas from your brain, onto the page, and into someone else's brain as efficiently as possible.
