The last time I drew regularly was about 15 years ago. Before that, I drew a lot. Self taught, so lacking lots of foundational skills. I wanted to get into comic art back then, or illustration. Started both a Fine Art and Visual Arts degree but, well, life gets in the way. I'm also in Oz (Australia), there were slim pickings in art at uni if you wanted to focus on comic art or game design back then. America was the place to be, or Japan.
I have a lot to learn now I'm back, and I don't just mean dusting off rusty old skills. The whole "art landscape" has changed - for the better I think.
Anyhoos, rambling. Let's see what you've been up to. :)
Edit. Forgot to ask, what about you? I find it hard to believe you are completely new to drawing. You have some skills there. As I said on your drawings, your characters look like who they are supposed to be. If you are drawing from memory, they're wonderful attempts. I can see what you were going for with both pics.
I can see you doing amazing things if you stick with it and go through the basics. Rome wasn't built in a day after all, they had to lay a foundation. (That's why I'm here, to learn the things I ignored when I was younger.)

This is a remarkable little pen. Technically speaking, any brush pen of reasonable quality will do, but I'm especially fond of this one. It's incredibly difficult to draw with (especially at first) due to how much your stroke varies based on how much pressure you apply, and how you use it - but at the same time despite this frustration, it's also incredibly fun.
Moreover, due to the challenge of its use, it teaches you a lot about the nuances of one's stroke. These are the kinds of skills that one can carry over to standard felt tip pens, as well as to digital media. Really great for doodling and just enjoying yourself.
