Rotated Boxes confusion

I am working on my 250 boxes now, and have been doing the rotated boxes exercise as part of my warmups. Anybody still confused about this? Even though I got it approved for my Lesson 1 submission, I still feel like I'm just making boxes based off of vibes lol. Especially when it comes to the diagonal boxes, I'm not sure if I'm judging how to angle the lines or the vanishing points correctly.

Any tips or help is appreciated!

This looks great (a lot better than the pages I've done) and I'm quite confused on the diagonal boxes myself, but I'd like to point out I don't think you're foreshortening the far left/right boxes enough

It looks like they're set by a straight line gradually converging to the VP rather than the boxes are rotating around

That exercise still hurts my brain, but the gist i got (and i hope i get corrected on this) is that the further the box is, the smaller its length and height will be compared to the central box

Excellent markmaking btw

Thanks so much for the encouragement and feedback! That makes sense, I was confused by the info on how convergences slow down as the box rotates, so wasn't sure how to convey that.

Will try that on the next go around. All the best on your journey too!

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
