250 Cylinder Challenge

This one tested my patience but I'm happy that I got through it.
Hello Fable! I'm Simon and will be attempting to review your 250 Cylinder challenge -this is my first review of this exercise so I hope the revie will be ok.
First of all jumping straight in with your first 150 cylinders you made sure to check the minor axis of your ellipses thoroughly and as you've seen I'm sure many of them are quite close to the minor axis you were going for so well done! For the variations of orientations it seems like you don't have many wide/short ellipses (like a near top down view) or with a very dramatic foreshortening so just keep that in mind for when you practice ellipses in your warmups :)
Also it seems like for some ellipses you draw over them 3 times, it's not like that happens on every ellipse or like you drew over them 5 times so it's no big deal just something to keep an eye on to stay in control of your ellipses' marks.
Moving on to the last 100 cylinders.
I don't have much to add here compared to the first 150, you drew the line extensions correctly which in turn helped you adjust your boxes to get correctly a square for where your ellipses will go and even though you can't get it perfectly every time which is normal your boxes and cylinders greatly improved through those 100!
And here it also seems like you took the proper care to actually draw the ellipses in a great variety of orientation so that's great !
As you keep practicing this exercise keep drawing the line extensions to improve even more!
Good luck moving forward to the Lesson 6 :)

Feel free to move on to the Lesson 6
Hi Simonp, thank you for your feedback. It has been very helpfull.
This is another one of those things that aren't sold through Amazon, so I don't get a commission on it - but it's just too good to leave out. PureRef is a fantastic piece of software that is both Windows and Mac compatible. It's used for collecting reference and compiling them into a moodboard. You can move them around freely, have them automatically arranged, zoom in/out and even scale/flip/rotate images as you please. If needed, you can also add little text notes.
When starting on a project, I'll often open it up and start dragging reference images off the internet onto the board. When I'm done, I'll save out a '.pur' file, which embeds all the images. They can get pretty big, but are way more convenient than hauling around folders full of separate images.
Did I mention you can get it for free? The developer allows you to pay whatever amount you want for it. They recommend $5, but they'll allow you to take it for nothing. Really though, with software this versatile and polished, you really should throw them a few bucks if you pick it up. It's more than worth it.
