Arrows
Pretty good in general, try to exaggerate more how they get closer to the viewer by making them bigger more exponentially, and don't forget you can clarify overlaps by adding superimposed lines for lineweight
Organic forms
You got some that doesn't adhere to the simple forms we're aiming for, remember they should be 2 identical balls connected by a tube of consistent width. You got some there bulginga and some that are more stretched-ellipses like, so be careful with that. Ellipses aren't shifting their degrees too much, so try to think more about them as well. Linework is p confident and good so good job on that!
Textures
Try to focus less on contours and focus more on the cast shadows, don't outline forms. You've also done too few of them. Remember the homework for this exercises is for A4 pages, so if you work in a smaller format be sure to add the equivalent not to do less than intended.
Form intersections
You're adding a lot of lineweight here. Be more subtle with it. Only add lineweight in parts of overlaps to clarify intersections, don't add it everywhere as well. You got some divergences too so try to be more careful with them. This exercise's main objective is to mantain consistent foreshortening, and to do that it's easier with shallow foreshortening, so try to focus on it on your next attempts.
Organic intersections
Mostly 3d but there are some forms that seem like they are floating. Try to focus more on perpendicular forms, instead of paralell ones, and just like in the organic forms exercise, do only simple forms, don't go crazy with them.
Next Steps:
I want to see the following before marking these as complete:
1 page of organic forms
1 page of form intersections
and 1 page of organic intersections
Focus on making the organic forms simple (read again the homework section) and don't repeat lines in the form intersections, try to be more subtle with your lineweight, just like I commented above. For the organic intersections the same, try to do more perpendicular forms, and follow the video demo before attempting it. Good luck and keep up the good work!
Color and Light by James Gurney
Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
