Hey! Hice job really, almost every texture is recognizable without hints
I'd add a little more details of study for some textures (to the middle square), such as liesegang or mushroom. As I see the point of the middle square is to get a better understanding of the lines or shadows that outline the texture, so you can repeat it in the future or use as a reference for yourself.

Color and Light by James Gurney
Some of you may remember James Gurney's breathtaking work in the Dinotopia series. This is easily my favourite book on the topic of colour and light, and comes highly recommended by any artist worth their salt. While it speaks from the perspective of a traditional painter, the information in this book is invaluable for work in any medium.
