Pretty good overall, but you have some concepts to make sure to get.

1) "We're also going to draw a nice, swoopy line as you can see here. Imagine this line moves from closer up to the viewer and pushes back into the scene, getting further away" - you came toward the viewer at some point after the first box in each pane.

2) Place dots for every corner of every box, before drawing the line. This applies to every ghosted line from now on. This was rushed and it shows.

3) 3 panes per page is what was asked for. Please follow directions more carefully in the future.

Lastly I'd mention that when uploading in imgur, you can select as many photos as you want when you are uploading, and it will put them into a tidy album, that you can share the link of. When taking a picture of your work take the picture with your phone perpendicular to the page, and hold the camer closer to the paper.

I was a bit rude of you to not go back and correct how you uploaded when it was pointed out. Maybe now you see the effort I took far outweighs a little inconvenience on your time. You will be needing to do these critiques (5 of them( before you can submit your 250 boxes,

I would like you to reply with your first 2 pages of your 250 box challenge, as that relates to this exercise pretty well. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here.

Attach all the revisions I requested to this critique please.

You fixed the mistakes for the most part, and I’d say you are ready for 250 boxes.

In your future warms you will pick 2-3 exercises to draw for about 15 minutes before you tackle boxes each day.

1-2 pages of boxes a day @ 5-6 per page is a good target. Take your time and ask questions in #basic-challenges for this one.

Good Luck!

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
