I'm really just excited to move to Lesson 3. I've learned a whole lot.

Hello! This is Doctormein and i'll be handling your Lesson 2 critique for today.
Thinking in 3D
Arrows
Your arrow really excel in conveying a flat shapes in 3 dimension, However there's still something you should keep in mind. For example when applying Line weight It should be executed with a smooth / confident execution while using the ghosting method.
But this prove to be hard at first. Especially with a curve like this, But it is important to keep this in mind nonetheless.
Organic form with Contour lines and Ellipses.
Your organic form is simple just like the exercise demand which is great! But there's also something that you can always improve on like Ellipses Alignment + Degree Remember that Minor axis should always cut ellipses in half. Like the funnels exercise from Lesson 1 https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/14/step3 And The degree of ellipses should change consistenly https://drawabox.com/lesson/2/5/ellipses And after you achieved this, You can try drawing less ellipses or contour. Less ellipses that do the job well is as equal as many ellipses which do job kinda ok
Texture and Details.
Texture analysis
This exercise is well done! At least in my opinion. I can see you're focusing on the cast shadow shapes instead of line which is marvelous. And the seamless transition is well done too. I don't think i really have critique on this section.
Dissection
Another job well done. You're wrapping texture around the form nicely and thinking of cast shadow instead of flat lines.
I don't have much critique on this section either.
Construction
Form Intersection
In this section i think you're also doing pretty well.
You are drawing the form confidently using the ghosting method. and you seem to understood the form intersection very well even if it's a secondary objective. One little tiny thing i would critique is that try to keep the foreshortening a bit more shallow and try not to use any stretched form (Like Boxes page 2) Although those are minor you should keep them in mind nonetheless
Organic intersection
You are keeping sausages plain and simple which is good and those sausages seem to have sense of weight and form to them too. But one thing you should absolutely do is to draw through your form. Since it'll force you to think in how form relate in spaces and will help you to better grasp concept here.
Next Steps:
Although the last exercise can certainly be better. But i think you actually grasped the concept of the whole lesson really well.
And i think you're ready for Lesson 3
Remember to always draw through your form for organic intersection and try to fix the mistake i mentioned above.
Cheers.
This recommendation is really just for those of you who've reached lesson 6 and onwards.
I haven't found the actual brand you buy to matter much, so you may want to shop around. This one is a "master" template, which will give you a broad range of ellipse degrees and sizes (this one ranges between 0.25 inches and 1.5 inches), and is a good place to start. You may end up finding that this range limits the kinds of ellipses you draw, forcing you to work within those bounds, but it may still be worth it as full sets of ellipse guides can run you quite a bit more, simply due to the sizes and degrees that need to be covered.
No matter which brand of ellipse guide you decide to pick up, make sure they have little markings for the minor axes.
