Hi, this is my second time going through Lesson 1 (I started going through Drawabox last year but ended up dropping it, I decided to give it another shot and try to finish all the lessons this time). My accuracy isn't super great but I hope that it will improve over time with more practice.

Thanks in advance for any criticism or comments!

Looks nice! I think you can relax your hand well and draw freely, I like it! The advice helped me - do not rush, do not draw very quickly, but try to do each line as attentively as possible. You're doing fine!

Thank you! I also noticed that sometimes I'm not super mindful about each line. I'll keep that in mind as I continue practicing.

Congratulations on completing Lesson 1, I'll be critiquing this.

Your Superimposed lines are fine and barely fray, which is very good to keep in mind, knowing that you take the time to keep the pen at the start of the line before making it.

Your Ghosted Lines are the same as well, though some arch a bit.

For your Planes, they have ample space and are equally divided, which means you are using the ghosting method.

Regarding your Tables of Ellipses, they are filled to the brim and don't overshoot too much with the table they're in, and towards each ellipse, which is good.

The Funnels are similar, with each ellipse touching each other without any overlap, and in tandem with the axis of the funnel.

Your Rough Perspective is good, as there are many boxes in each table comverging to the point.

Your Rotated Boxes show a lot of promise as each box has it's own rotation and has hatching, showing that you took the time.

Your Organic Perspective is also filled to the brim with boxes of varying sizes which is good, and it flows well with the lines you have drawn.

The Art of Brom

The Art of Brom

Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.

The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
