Is drawing the straight lines required by some exercises on computer okay?

For example the tables of ellipses exercise has a first step of drawing a table with a ruler. Would it be okay to do this step on computer and then print it out? Learning to draw straight lines with a ruler isn't exactly the main point of the exercise, it's just a prep step. But it can be a bit hard to draw a perfectly horizontal line across an A4, although I'm not sure how much it matters if it's not perfectly horizontal.
The plotted perspective exercise is done entirely with a ruler so of course everything couldn't be done with a computer, but the first two steps (frame + horizontal line) could be done with a computer without affecting the learning experience.
