Inexperience as an opportunity

It has been 1 month since i used my sketchbook and some more since I've practiced seriously, so much has happened since then that the amount of stuff i wanted to do before feels overwhelming. As such i feel the right thing to "get back on track" would be to keep doodling what's on my mind instead of actively looking or reading anything, is that a good idea?

I don't see anything wrong with that, but I do think it's hard to give clear yes/no answers based on relatively limited information. So instead, perhaps it would be better to ask you to go into detail as to why you think it might not be a good idea.

I think it's mostly a psychological thing, it's been so long since I've properly practiced that the idea of casually filling my sketchbook makes me kinda anxious

I think it's important to always remember that while our feelings are valid in that we experience them, they are oftentimes not a reliable reflection of reality - and so looking to them to guide you is not always going to provide you with reliable information.

That is a fascinating observation i am going to reflect upon going forward, but maybe I'm just lazy lol

Below this point is mostly ads. Indie projects, and tool/course recommendations from us.
This section is reserved for low-cost advertising space for art related indie projects.
With how saturated the market is, it is tough for such projects to get eyes on their work.
By providing this section, we hope to help with that.

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
