Hi ! Thanks for all the content you provide us for free !

For the ghosted lines i tend to use more my elbow than my shoulder usually when i draw and it's quite difficult for me to tell if i used my shoulder correctly or if it's just my brain telling "yes good that's it" as i use my elbow instead.

The funnel exercise was a nightmare for me with all the frustration. Even if i ghosted the ellipse it doesn't comes out quite right. I dunno if it's just a lack of accuracy or if my ghosting method isn't good.

And perspective being one of my weakness the rough and organic perspective was... a thing. My brain does certainly have a hard time to try to rotate the box. It was painful in a way so much that it shows. I think i kinda rushed it by the end (my lines demonstrate that fact as they became uglier by the time).

Please do tell me where and how i can improve and if i have to redo any of the exercise.

Thanks in advance for the critiques and advices.

Hey dude i look over at everything and you did a good job overall but there are some places you can work on.

First off you did a fine enough job on the funnel exercise i think you where a little to hard on yourself and i don't know your knowledge and experience with drawing but overall a good job

in the rotating box exercise you made the boxes to small and might wanna make them a bit bigger, the reason you don't want to make small boxes is because you use you shoulder less and more your wrist, there for your not improving your shoulder drawing. The other thing is that i cant see though the boxes very well, it might have to do with the thick lines on the boxes and them being so close together.

So overall you should take your time and don't get sloppy. And practice more drawing from the shoulder. Something i did one time was draw planes really big on my page to help a little. It may or may not help. Also can you tell me how much experience you have in drawing so i can get and idea

i never did critiques before so i may or may not did this right but i hope it helps.

Next Steps:

do warmups with useing your sholder more, moveing you elbow is fine i think dont sweat it and take your time when doing these exercise's

Hi ! thanks for your critique and advice ! =) (and yes they do help don't worry !)

About my experience in drawing, i started it when i was 10 and stopped it when i was about 12 years old, i was just copying drawings that i liked at that time.

I retook it seriously around 2015 but it was very chaotic. What i mean is i could draw for several hours a day for a few days or weeks and then i didn't touch anything for a few weeks even months. And so on until now in which i try to stay focused to learn it properly because i really want to get better.

I'm purely self taught. And let's say that i had a tendency to disperse when it comes to my learning before, in which i could concentrate on learning anatomy for a moment and then switch to perspective, to then switch again for digital painting and so on.

So i have some experience but also a lots of bad habits that i have to tackle. That's why i chose Drawabox to refocus and start on a good basis.

I actually think this looks really good.

Your ghosted lines are confident and strong. That said, you have more fraying at both ends than you should have. Take the time to carefully place the pen at the exact same place before you execute the line.

Your ghosted planes look great

Your elipses are snug in their boxes and confident. You say you struggled with the elipses in funnels, but they look snug and well aligned.

Rough perspective is decent, the lines do converge.

The rotated box exercise is a beast and you've made a really solid attempt here.

The organic perspective looks good, the boxes rotate and get. larger and smaller and overlap, selling the illusion well. That said, you seem to have started going over lines several times, which you should never to. One confident line, and live with your mistakes.

Your crosshatching also sometimes messy, particularly in the plotted perspective exercise. You should avoid scribbles like this, it will make it harder to see your drawing later.

Well done, and good luck with the 250 Box Challenge.

Next Steps:

Practice ghosting as part of your warmup. Go ahead to 250 boxes.

Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens

Like the Staedtlers, these also come in a set of multiple weights - the ones we use are F. One useful thing in these sets however (if you can't find the pens individually) is that some of the sets come with a brush pen (the B size). These can be helpful in filling out big black areas.

Still, I'd recommend buying these in person if you can, at a proper art supply store. They'll generally let you buy them individually, and also test them out beforehand to weed out any duds.
