Eldast, don't worry, I'm here to give you my feedback on your lesson 1.

Lines: I believe you made good lines. Although some have deviations, they are smooth.

Ellipses: I noticed that you often exceeded the limit of drawing them 3 times, plus some of them were deformed. You can try to pay more attention when ghosting to try to smooth them out and not exceed the limits I mentioned.

Cashiers: YOU DID VERY WELL. IT IS SERIOUS. The rotated boxes exercise is very good. It would have been nice if you had used line weight in the organic perspective. I didn't need to correct the boxes in rough perspective.

In general, you did well, you just need to pay attention to what I said about ellipses. I recommend that you do some of these exercises as a warm-up for future drawings.

Next Steps:

Your next step is the 250 Boxes Challenge. Good luck:)

Hi Adley, appreciate your feedback.

Ellipses we're tough for me. Doing them within 2 rounds often ended in them being not circular enough, whereas 3+ helped me shaping them. Yet, will keep doing them as warm-ups.

Thanks for the input about line weight, will incorporate that too :)

Cheers

Below this point is mostly ads. Indie projects, and tool/course recommendations from us.
This section is reserved for low-cost advertising space for art related indie projects.
With how saturated the market is, it is tough for such projects to get eyes on their work.
By providing this section, we hope to help with that.
If you'd like to advertise here, you can do so through comicad.net
The recommendation below is an advertisement. Most of the links here are part of Amazon's affiliate program (unless otherwise stated), which helps support this website. It's also more than that - it's a hand-picked recommendation of something we've used ourselves, or know to be of impeccable quality. If you're interested, here is a full list.
Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

Pentel Pocket Brush Pen

This is a remarkable little pen. I'm especially fond of this one for sketching and playing around with, and it's what I used for the notorious "Mr. Monkey Business" video from Lesson 0. It's incredibly difficult to draw with (especially at first) due to how much your stroke varies based on how much pressure you apply, and how you use it - but at the same time despite this frustration, it's also incredibly fun.

Moreover, due to the challenge of its use, it teaches you a lot about the nuances of one's stroke. These are the kinds of skills that one can carry over to standard felt tip pens, as well as to digital media. Really great for doodling and just enjoying yourself.

I would not recommend this for Drawabox - we use brush pens for filling in shadow shapes, and you do not need a pen this fancy for that. If you do purchase it, save it for drawing outside of the course.
