Lesson 7: Applying Construction to Vehicles

I can't be too upset at how my homework turned out (most real artists my age probably aren't familiar with such advanced measuring techniques), but I'm bothered that I struggled the most with things I was supposed to internalize from previous lessons: just trying to foreshorten a box was a struggle, and mapping my orthographic plans onto boxes at all felt like pushing a round peg into a square hole. Even if I did improve near the end, I'm still a bit embarrassed to spend so much longer than average going through the course to retain so much less from it than everyone else posting their work in the discord.
When I realized my low retention was from not following the 50% rule (as I'm exactly the sort of student mentioned in the video, unable to actually apply anything they've learned in the course), I forced myself into following it midway through this, the hardest lesson in the course. Even if I've stalled to only being able to draw for fun maybe 10% of the time, the silver lining is that the 50% rule made the actual lesson seem like a relaxing breeze in comparison, the dessert after eating a plate of barely cooked vegetables. (Speaking of positives, the learning materials you provided me about textures helped me reach a breakthrough with them, I'm happy to say.)
Counselling is going well. As always, thank you for your time.
