Lesson 1: Lines, Ellipses and Boxes

Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi there,
thanks for submitting, I'll be reviewing your homework. I hope my feedback helps you.
Superimposed lines
Some of your lines are a bit wobbly in the beginning, but it gets a lot better on page 2. You should probably add this to your warm up routine to improve both confidence and accuracy. Always remember that in DaB confidence goes over accuracy!
ghosted lines
Again a bit wobbly, but otherwise good job.
ghosted planes
Same as the above. I know how hard it is to abandon accuracy, because everything looks really off if you do. Ghost your lines and then make a confident line, and accurcy comes naturally the more you do it. I'd also add this to your warmup.
tabels of ellipses
Looks good. Your lines are smooth and you drew every ellipe twice. I'd also add this to your warmup to improve accuracy.
ellipses in planes
They look really good, you have smooth lines and stay inside the planes
funnels
The big one is a little to lose (your ellipses aren't inside the funnel) but the others are really nice. You aligned them to the minor axis and they're well spaced.
plotted perspective
Very well done, nothing else to say here :)
rough perspective
Your lines are a bit wobbly, but you understood the concept. Your lines converge to the vanishing points, and the horizontal/vertical lines are parallel/perpendicular to the horizon. Add this to your warm up to also improve your accuracy. Make sure to ghost your lines.
rotated boxes
This looks very nice. You kept the boxes close together, drew through them and rotated them nicely.
organic perspective
Good job here as well. Your boxes look 3D and get smaller the further away you are. Your lines a still wobbly, but thats nothing new.
You don't have to do every exercise in every warmup (that would take way to long), so do 2-3 and switch them up.
Overall you've done a good job with lesson 1 and understood all the concepts, so feel free to start with the 250 box challenge.
Next Steps:
Go do the 250 box challenge, don't forget to warm up with the exercises from lesson 1 as stated above and don't neglect the 50% rule. Good luck and have fun
Here we're getting into the subjective - Gerald Brom is one of my favourite artists (and a pretty fantastic novelist!). That said, if I recommended art books just for the beautiful images contained therein, my list of recommendations would be miles long.
The reason this book is close to my heart is because of its introduction, where Brom goes explains in detail just how he went from being an army brat to one of the most highly respected dark fantasy artists in the world today. I believe that one's work is flavoured by their life's experiences, and discovering the roots from which other artists hail can help give one perspective on their own beginnings, and perhaps their eventual destination as well.
